Terms of Service
These terms cover the Knights & Forks app and knightsandforks.com, operated by Robin Srimal. The app helps players and organisers manage in-person chess tournaments and provides a chess clock.
For questions, complaints or reports, contact support@ousia-labs.com.
Using the service
The beta is for people aged 18 and over and is currently free. Keep your account information accurate and your sign-in details secure. Only use accounts you are authorised to access.
Fair play
Treat others respectfully. Do not harass people, impersonate others, manipulate results or ratings, upload unlawful content, or interfere with the service or other accounts. Report results and attendance honestly.
Tournaments and venues
Organisers are responsible for their venue listings, permission to use the venue, event arrangements and any entry conditions. Check event details with the organiser before attending. Unless expressly identified as the organiser, Knights & Forks provides the software and does not run the event. This does not remove our responsibility for our own service.
Content you provide
You keep your rights to photos, descriptions and other content you submit. You must have permission to share it. You give us permission to store, display and process that content only as needed to operate the service. Shared tournament records and linked venue content may remain after account deletion, as explained in the privacy policy. Contact us about content that infringes your rights.
Beta availability
Beta software may contain errors or experience interruptions. Check important tournament information and agree with your opponent before using the chess clock in a game. We may update the app or end the beta, with reasonable notice where practicable. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Closing or restricting accounts
You can stop using the service and request account deletion in Settings or by email. We may restrict an account or remove content where reasonably necessary to address serious or repeated misuse, security risks or legal obligations. We will explain the reason where legally permitted and safe to do so. Contact us if you think a decision is incorrect.
Your rights
Nothing in these terms excludes mandatory consumer rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. You retain any rights to remedies and to bring a claim in a competent court under applicable law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the service or legal requirements change. We will give reasonable notice of material changes before they take effect and seek agreement where required by law. Changes do not retrospectively remove rights you already have.
How we handle personal data is explained in our Privacy policy.
