Privacy policy

Knights & Forks is operated by Robin Srimal, who is responsible for your personal data. This policy covers the app and knightsandforks.com.

The beta is for people aged 18 and over. Contact us if you believe a minor has provided personal data.

For privacy questions and requests, contact support@ousia-labs.com.

Information we collect

Account details are required to sign in; a username and starting rating are required to join a tournament. Venue information is needed only to create a venue. Optional fields are marked in the app. City selection does not use GPS.

Why we use it

We use this information to provide accounts, venues, tournaments, pairings, results and ratings. Under the GDPR, this is necessary to perform our contract with you.

We also use it for our legitimate interests in security, preventing abuse, support and maintaining accurate shared tournament records, and where necessary to meet legal obligations.

What others can see

Other players and organisers can see your username, profile, ratings, tournament participation and results. Your email and sign-in credentials are private.

Published venue details and photos are visible to app users; drafts are private. WhatsApp invitation links are visible to the venue organiser and registered players, who may forward them.

Who we share data with

External map, chat, website, beta-group and app-store links connect to separate services with their own privacy policies. They may receive your IP address and link information. Joining a WhatsApp group may reveal your phone number to members.

Authorised operators and providers receive only the access needed for their work. We may disclose data to authorities or advisers where required by law or necessary for legal claims.

We do not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising.

International transfers

Our providers process data in the EEA and other countries, including the United States and Australia. Where European law requires safeguards, we rely on applicable adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses. Contact us for details or a copy of the relevant safeguards.

How long we keep data

Delete your account

Choose Delete account in Settings, or request deletion by email without using the app.

Send your request to support@ousia-labs.com. Where possible, use your registered email. We may need to verify ownership. Do not send passwords or sign-in codes.

We delete your account credentials, email, profile, personal rating history and venue drafts. The limited records described above remain.

Shared tournaments and results remain without your public name or profile link. Venues referenced by tournaments, including past tournaments, retain their details and photos without your ownership link; other venues and photos are deleted. Contact us to request removal of personal information in retained venue content. Copies held independently by other people or services are outside our control.

Security and device storage

We protect data with encrypted connections and storage, protected passwords and restricted access.

The app stores sign-in information securely and remembers language, appearance and city preferences on your device.

The website uses no advertising or tracking cookies. Authentication services may use necessary sign-in cookies.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, a portable copy or restriction of processing, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where consent applies, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.

To exercise your rights, email support@ousia-labs.com.

We may verify your identity and will respond within legal time limits. You may complain to your local data-protection authority, including Spain’s Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD).
